So, as you can tell, I’ve been quite the blog hermit. However, I’m emerging from my hermit-itude to say:

“Happy one-month birthday to baby Edward!”

I apologize for not announcing this sooner, but baby Edward was born one month ago, only a few short days after my sister was admitted to the hospital. You can read the birth saga over at my sister’s blog if you’d like. Long story short, both my sister and Edward are doing well, although Edward will probably be in the NICU until close to due date. He’s gaining weight, and learning how to eat, and although it’s slow going, he’ll get there. They’ve got a lot of support, both with the families and with the staff at the hospital.

I got to go visit this past weekend and meet him for the first time. He’s so tiny! Look at his little baby fingers grabbing grandpa’s:

He doesn’t really like bright lights and I traveled lightly, so I don’t have too many good pictures, but there are a number over on my sister’s blog, and I’m sure I’ll get plenty as he gets older.

Anyway, “Happy birthday, Edward!”
